Cowens BioAL13 effectively removes metal oxides and limescale without etching the material.
BioAL13 is used for reconditioning of waterborne systems. The product contains a unique raw material based on fermented whey. It is readily biodegradable and is mild to the skin.
BioAL 13 is developed for Cleaning in Place (CIP) reconditioning of waterborne systems. For optimal result, we recommend that CIP-machines are used in order to control temperature and circulation.
• All types of heat exchangers • Water pipe systems
• Water heaters • Boilers
• Tanks • Air heaters
• Cooling rolls
Types of fouling
• Rust and other metal oxides • Limescale and other carbonates
• Salts • Humus
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
One part concentrate to seven parts of water (1:7). For very severe scaling, increase the proportion of BioAL13. Recommended working temperature: approx. +45-60°C. Note: If the pH increases over 3,5, add more concentrate! Before usage, stir or homogenize the product.
EFFECT ON MATERIAL
BioAL13 does not harm steel, wood, paint, china or rubber. When cleaning heat exchangers, for example, there is no need to remove rubber seals. The product does not etch steel or aluminium. This means that heat exchangers and other waterborne systems can be cleaned without leakage.
NOTE: Zinc is sensitive to low pH. Therefore, you should not use BioAL13 on galvanized surfaces. Black iron and some qualities of brass are also sensitive. Different metal qualities that are linked together can cause galvanic corrosion. The risk for corrosion increase when cleaning especially at high temperatures.
HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
BioAL13 has a pH of 1.3 ±0.3 in concentrated form, but contains no strong acids and is therefore proportionately mild to the skin. The product is classified as R36, Irritating to eyes. The
recommended user solution, 1:7, has not that classification. Hot liquid should be handled with care, due to the risk of burn. Note: Depending on the fouling that is removed, the cleaning
liquid may become harmful.
The product fulfils the Nordic Ecolabel criteria for industrial cleaning and degreasing agent. BIOAL13 is also classified as WGK 1 (= light water damage) according to the German water toxicity legislation.
The user solution of the product is not hazardous chemical waste. However, depending on what has been cleaned, a used cleaning liquid may be classified as hazardous waste. Such waste must be disposed in accordance with local authority regulations.
The package is made of PEHD-plastic, and can be recycled and energy-recovered. It should be sorted as hard plastic packaging.
TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
There are no transport restrictions.
Recommended storage temperature: from 0°C to +30°C. The product can be frozen and thawed without deteriorating.
Note: If not the whole content in the package is used at the same time, BioAL13 must be stirred or in some other way homogenized before usage.
