Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes at our mill? We’re often asked what we make and how it’s made, so take a quick peek inside! This is our heritage machinery in action—running our traditional carding machine and needler to produce top-tier Crib 5 and Crib 7 fire-retardant barriers. Made from custom blends of viscose and cotton, these layers sit between the outer fabric and interior foam in furniture manufacturing to provide crucial flame protection.Every roll is crafted right here at Ellers Mill in Dalston, Cumbria. Manufacturing cotton on this site since 1782, it stands as the oldest continuously operating cotton mill in the world—proudly run by the Cowen since 1821.Tradition meets modern safety standards.🔗 Visit our website to learn more: www.cowens.co.uk#BritishManufacturing #Cumbria #HeritageCraft #cottonmill #Crib5 #Crib7 #FireRetardant #FurnitureDesign #EllersMill #MadeInBritain #cowensltd #upholstery
